Sunrise on the Beach at Daytona Beach

To me there is nothing more pleasant than a peaceful walk along a beach at sunrise or sunset.

The photos below were taken during a recent stroll along Daytona Beach beach in Florida.

While the rest of the family slept soundly in the beach front resort condo we were vacationing at, I took my camera and set out to enjoy the dawn of a new day.

The Florida sun can be very hot in August but when I first stepped out the air was cool and pleasant and the sun low enough on the horizon so that my camera was able to capture the views of life on the beach without being washed out by a bright overhead sun on the sand and water.

But those moments didn't last long as the air steadily became hotter, the sun brighter and the crowd slowly began to build.  It wouldn't be long before the beach would fill with people out to enjoy the sun, sand and water.  

Being a part of the daytime beach crowd, enjoying the many attractions of the beach is what we came here for.

But there is something about being present at the very start of the new day that makes it worthwhile to get up early despite the fact that one is here to vacation.
