Chika Decorates Easter Eggs
64An Ancient Tradition
April 3, 2010
Decorating eggs for Easter is an ancient tradition and one that has been a part of my life since I was a baby.
In fact in my Father's old home movies there is a shot of me sitting in my high chair at the kitchen table while my parents dyed eggs for my first Easter (actually it was my second Easter as I was born in April a couple of days before Easter and the next year Easter came in March so I celebrated Easter twice before I was a year old).
Dying Easter eggs is a tradition that I continued with my own children. While the four of them are pretty much grown with the youngest now 21, my middle son who is finishing college and still lives at home (although rarely here) continues to look forward to dying eggs each year.

Chika Joins in the Tradition
This year, being our dog Chika's first Easter with us, we included her in the activity.
Although she was no more adept at dying eggs than she was at helping me write Hubs for my recent 30 Hubs in 30 Days effort, she did do what she does best and that is posing for pictures.
