Cartoons are an art form that can be used to entertain as well as communicate, educate or influence. Oftentimes, cartoons communicate, educate or influence while entertaining at the same time.
Political cartoons, especially those on the editorial pages of newspapers frequently entertain as the poke fun at and satirize politicians or government policies.
My youngest son, Victor who is now a college student, has always enjoyed drawing and has recently been experimenting with his own cartoon creations.
These creations are simply entertainment for members of the family and a few friends. But he is working at creating his own characters giving them looks through his art skills and personalities through the words he puts in their mouths and situations he puts them in.
This is his first attempt at reaching an audience beyond his small circle of friends and family.

Hey, chuck. go and try to check out some of my art. i still think your son's is cool. i could draw one-page-drawings, but when it comes to comics, i dont know how to fit it into one compressed space(or panel). I can do one-pager comics, though. you know, like editorial ones.

thank you for the advice. as soon as i get a decent picture of me :) i'll upload one. to be honest, i'm kinda new here. tell your son not only is he a talented cartoonist, but funny. this makes me feel like putting art on my hub right now.
The Awesomeness - Thank you for your comment on this hub. As to your question about a profile picture, it is rather simple (like most HubPages features):
First - load the picture you want (either from a digital camera or scan a paper photo into your computer and save it in either a jpeg or gif format.
Second - sign into your Hubpages account and click on the "my profile" tab at the top.
Third - in the top left corner of your profile update page is a link you can click on that will allow you to upload the picture that you saved in your PC.

man, thats great! wonderful cartoon style, too. that gave me a laugh. i actually see what that kid means. oh,and how do you get a profile picture. i know it sounds silly, but i really dont know.
